LED Lighting Systems

Here is what that looks like on the ground. We supply modern LED lighting systems and the crews to run them from an inventory base in Jakarta and Bali, fielding panels, tubes, point sources and full RGBWW fixtures with precise colour and intensity control. Our lighting technicians work with the gaffer to balance LED output against Indonesia's intense equatorial daylight, build interview and interior setups, and program colour effects for commercial and music-video work.

Here is how the picture comes together. LED's low heat output and modest power draw make it above all well suited to Indonesian conditions: fixtures run cooler in 32-degree humidity, battery-powered units reach locations beyond the grid, and reduced power demand eases power packs load on remote shoots. Even so, our crews protect fixtures, controllers and batteries from moisture, weatherproof setups against sudden tropical downpours, and work to the 230V/50Hz Indonesian mains.

Here is what we have to work with. For shoots reaching Bali, Yogyakarta or remote islands, battery-driven LED packages travel fast by flight and boat, letting small units light ambitious scenes far from infrastructure with minimal logistical overhead. Indonesia's two production centres of Jakarta and Bali anchor a fast-growing film and content industry. The LED lighting base has expanded alongside heavy streaming investment from Netflix and others. Jakarta, the megacity capital, hosts the deepest inventory and crew pool, with large or pro shoots supplementing high-end fixtures from Jakarta and, where needed, from Singapore.

Here is the layout. The country's location range rewards portable LED systems, from high-rise Jakarta interiors and the UNESCO-listed Borobudur to Bali's villas and sea temples and the volcanic terrain beyond the reach of mains power. Foreign shoots need filming permits. ATA carnets are accepted for incoming lighting kit, simplifying the movement of LED fixtures and control gear. English is widely used in the film-services sector, above all in Bali, so global DPs and gaffers brief local crew with ease. The dry season, roughly April or May to September or October, gives the most reliable conditions for exterior lighting work across the archipelago.
