Scene 02 — Locations
From landmark monuments to hidden quarters — every district scouted and permit-mapped.

landmark
1920s Dutch colonial provincial parliament with distinctive central tower topped by six ornaments resembling satay skewers — Bandung's defining civic landmark.
Pedestrianized heritage avenue — restored 1920s shopfronts, art deco cinemas (Majestic), classic cafés (Sumber Hidangan), cobbled stone surface.
Active stratovolcano 30km north of Bandung with three accessible craters. Sulfur vents, multicolored mineral walls, lunar-landscape interior.
Surreal turquoise sulfur lake in a white volcanic crater 50km south of Bandung. Otherworldly color, ringed by dead volcanic forest.
Sweeping rolling tea fields planted by Dutch colonialists — geometric green hillsides, working pickers in conical hats, plantation factory tours.
1939 art deco hotel on Asia-Afrika Street — streamlined modernist façade, original lobby fixtures, hosted 1955 Asia-Africa Conference delegates.
Cultural performance venue dedicated to Sundanese bamboo angklung music — open-air bamboo amphitheater, daily ensemble performances.
1933 streamline moderne villa on Bandung's northern hills — now part of UPI university. Curved white façades, rooftop terraces, mountain views.
Site of the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference — Hotel Savoy Homann, Merdeka Building, and the iconic Gedung Sate provincial parliament.
Northern hillside neighborhood — colonial villas, Dago Pakar viewpoint, and Tea House cafés with city panorama views.
Highland resort district 30km north — strawberry farms, Floating Market, Tangkuban Perahu volcano access, cooler 18°C climate.
Tea plantations, Kawah Putih white-water crater lake, Situ Patenggang lake, and Rancabali highland landscapes.
Modern shopping and university district — Maranatha and Padjadjaran campuses, factory outlet strip, and contemporary urban backdrops.

Scene 04 — Logistics
Husein Sastranegara Airport (BDO) — 5km / 15 min — limited domestic only since 2023
Kertajati International Airport (alternative) (KJT) — 100km / 2 hr east in Majalengka
Whoosh High-Speed Train
Indonesia's first bullet train — Halim Jakarta to Tegalluar Bandung in 45 minutes. Game-changing for Jakarta-based productions.
Crew tip: Book first/business class for equipment racks. Tegalluar station is 15km southeast of central Bandung — connect via taxi or KCIC feeder.
Argo Parahyangan Train
Conventional KAI service from Jakarta Gambir to Bandung Hall — 3 hours, scenic mountain route, more central arrival than Whoosh.
Crew tip: Cheaper than Whoosh and arrives at downtown Bandung Station, walking distance to Braga.
Private Driver
Standard production transport — Avanza, Innova, or Hiace with local driver. Rp 500,000-700,000/day including fuel.
Crew tip: Lembang and Ciwidey day trips need experienced highland drivers — narrow mountain roads with switchbacks.
Grab / Gojek
Available throughout Bandung city and Lembang. Highland zones (Ciwidey, Pangalengan) less reliable.
Crew tip: GoCar XL for medium loads. For Tangkuban or Kawah Putih, charter the driver for the full day.
Bandung is far easier than Jakarta. Hotel parking standard, Braga has dedicated lots (Rp 5,000/hour). Heritage zones (Asia-Afrika, Gedung Sate) restrict large vehicles during weekday peaks.
Hotel base camps preferred. For highland shoots, plantation and crater operators provide unit parking (Rp 200,000-400,000/day). Lembang offers low-cost staging fields.
Central Bandung is compact — most heritage locations within 15-minute drives. Highland zones (Lembang north, Ciwidey south) are 60-90 minute one-way commits — schedule them as full-day shoots. Weekend Jakarta day-tripper traffic on the Cipularang toll road slows late-Sunday returns.
