This places real demands on wireless audio.

Here is how the work shapes up. Jakarta's crowded radio range needs careful frequency planning, while shoots in Komodo, Raja Ampat or rural Sumatra need fully self-enough wireless kit with no support nearby. The two production centres of Jakarta and Bali hold the deepest gear inventory, with pro gear supplemented from Jakarta and, where needed, from Singapore. Foreign shoots need filming permits. ATA carnets are accepted for incoming wireless and audio gear, simplifying the movement of radio mic and comms kit for a shoot.

Here is how it adds up. English is widely used in the film-services sector, above all in Bali, so global sound teams set up easily with local crew. The dry season, roughly April or May to September or October, gives the most reliable conditions for exterior wireless work across the archipelago.
