On-set medical cover ranges from a single qualified medic for a standard shoot to boosted provision for stunt work, large crews and hazardous environments. Our team scopes the medical plan to the production, conducts location risk assessments, and sets up the protocols a shoot needs before the first day: nearest-hospital routes, ambulance contacts and evacuation arrangements.

Here is how the work shapes up. For remote work, where the nearest hospital may be hours away, we plan for extended response times and equip teams to match. Medical planning is built to satisfy both Indonesian occupational-safety and Ministry of Health needs and the standards of global shoots insurers, with medical evacuation to major centres factored in. Our medics for global shoots communicate fluently in English. Costs are settled transparently in Indonesian rupiah. Indonesia's environment shapes each medical plan.

Here is how it adds up. The country is tropical and equatorial, hot and humid year-round, so heat illness and dehydration are constant considerations across long shooting days. Mosquito-borne disease is a real risk, above all on the outer islands and in Papua, and pre-production briefings cover recommended vaccinations and prophylaxis. Indonesia sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire with around 130 active volcanoes. Productions filming near features such as Mount Bromo or Mount Agung work to a volcanic-hazard plan.

Here is the run-down. Geography is the other defining factor: the archipelago spreads across some 17,000 islands, and medical infrastructure differs a lot, from well-equipped hospitals in Jakarta and Bali to very tight facilities in places such as Raja Ampat or Komodo National Park.
